Inspired by the multi-sensory energy of the street carnivals of Recife and Olinda (Brazil), this series translates their colour, rhythm, and joyful chaos into layered abstract works. Each piece is built through multiple painted layers, some intentionally hidden, others leaving subtle textures that hint at what lies beneath. Finished with resin, the works capture a sense of sparkle, movement, and celebration.

Vibrant, mismatched, and compositionally unexpected, this collection departs from my usual minimalist palette as a homage to the spirited, unfiltered freedom of these cities. Created while immersed in carnival rhythms like frevo, the paintings carry the pulse and exuberance that shaped them.
